Helping a friend

It happened freshmen year "I made friends with two girls who were lesbians"
I knew one the girls since middle school
And I remember her telling me how she was raped in the past
"all I could do was comfort her and be there when she needed me"
One day during lunch she and her girlfriend got into a fight and argued for a while
"i wanted to know what happened but at that moment I knew that's what couples do they argue"
After five minutes her girlfriend ran into the bathroom
I walked in to check of her "she had tears coming down her face"
As she sat in a corner
Her face was blank and I had asked her what was wrong so i went to touch her on her shoulder "she had the eyes of the devil"
She yelled at me saying "DON'T F*****G TOUCH ME"
I was worried and at that time I didn't know what to do so I went back in the lunch hoping she come back
"after another five minutes my friend goes to the bathroom to see her girlfriend"
While another one of my friends ran after her because she was worried
"her girlfriend tried to hang herself in the bathroom with her own belt"
I thought she was dead when I found out the news
Later that year her she went to a mental institution while my best friend I knew since middle school never talked to me again
"she called me unloyal"
And by the end of the year she started doing drugs "what did I do wrong?"
I was only helping a friend
