Mistake

Mistake

A Poem by K.H. Law
"

We all have someone in our past who was a mistake right?

"
He's like some mistake
I've made once, twice, and again.
Simply, my heart will break
if I cannot abstain.

It is human to err,
and we are but mortal fools.
Love begins light as air,
but becomes dense and heavy as it cools.

He falls in love so quick,
and I so slow and steady.
He falls out of it easily and slick,
just when I was getting ready.

Time allegedly heals every wound,
and I'll take this time to think
about every time I swooned
and every time he would wink.

To forgive is divine
and good for him and for me.
I cannot let myself pine,
I have to let all mistakes be.
