Fragments

Fragments

A Poem by K.H. Law
"

Hey, I've been pretty heartbroken lately and that is a result from a short-lived and complicated thing that graced my life.

"

All we shared were fragments;

Sharp, jagged pieces of each other

That deeply cut and turn me to madness.

Words, spoken and not, overwhelmingly smother

me as I hold to scraps of sanity

and assure that there will be another.

An affair of vanity;

every kiss and touch will stay

and drive me further towards insanity.

We’ve fallen into a dark day,

a never ending winter.

Because of these dark games you play

all we’ve had are now crumbs and rubble and splinters.

Flashes of your eyes, wafts of your smell

cage me in despair of midwinter’s.

Uncast this spell,

forever let me be.

You probably cannot tell,

That you have a crazy hold over me.

You did not have me, I did not have you

but I still don’t feel free.

There is only glass of blue,

there are only shards of you and I.

Everything, all that there was, was never true.

I wrote it in about ten minutes while my roommates were talking rapidly and I was trying not to cry. So. It's not the best.
