I’m afraid

I’m afraid

A Poem by AKhaus

I gave it all, I gave a lot.
My heart bled words and you devoured every single verse.
I couldn’t see myself in the mirror anymore because you stripped my eyes of the light that made me free.
Lost in the forest of my thoughts, I hunted myself as the prey to keep the pain of you from ending this game.
I’m afraid it was never real but another dream to teach me well, teach me that emptiness can never yield anything but emptiness
