Let me go

Let me go

A Poem by AKhaus

your steps labored by the weight of my pain you've been carrying along this empty road.

my body limp, lifeless as my eyes remain void of meaning.

dragging my hollowed heart around and you are about to fail in your remaining steps if you don't let go of me.

my flesh rotted, my bones turning to dust, and you still hold the image of me perfectly to mind.

poisoning your thoughts, my ghost only haunts...robbing you of your future, snuffing your breath out with cryptic and distorted memories of time that has ceased.

let me go...don't keep me caged in that suspended reality

let me go...let me be the death that meant something

let me go...let me be the past that gave you back your life

let me go and never return

These words convey such deeply felt emotion and a yearning to remember the legacy of one but not dwell upon it to where their passing still effects one's life. Obsession should never be a motive to love, nor define it. To be remembered in a passing smile briefly is the best tribute one can pay to the loss of a loved one. Clinging to ghosts is no way to pay homage to their memory. CLE

Perhaps you need let go as well? Sometimes things end, sometimes we just THINK they do - for real or just behind our eyes. Talking about it is the true key... but so few really talk at all - ya know?
