go

go

A Poem by AKhaus

I need to go back...back to when I knew what these sounds meant and understand why I walked this path so crookedly.
Hear the crickets and morning doves...hear them as they sound the morning to our feet and lighten the day.
I miss the shadow of my existence that was...I was before the day and now I lie beneath its shadow.
Something in your words that buried me below the fields of dark green...I never seemed to rise from that flood.
I must go back...back to when my tongue formed words and did not fail to speak.
I must go and go quickly before the dark inhales my soul into that hole of empty dreams.
I once tried, truly tried to tie the ends of that poem but it was only a riddle of that which is clearly yet to be sewn.
