dance to the humming of the past

dance to the humming of the past

A Poem by AKhaus

She abandoned us years ago and yet this wound is still so fresh.
So we dance to the humming of the past.
So we sing to the melody of our pain.
The pain never seems to go away and the wound never heals.

So we dance to the humming of the past.
So we sing to the melody of our pain.

We walk slowly past that lilac bush as the fragrance sears our memories.

So we dance to the humming of the past.
So we sing to the melody of our pain.

We drift into the darkness of our room just dreaming of the moments as the lights then pierces that divine, splitting it into dust with every sunrise.

So we dance to the humming of the past.
So we sing to the melody of our pain.

Some wounds never heal completely. Abandonment by a parent is surely one of those.

Thank you for reading and I completely agree that a parent who is absent and has left is very damagi.. read more
This had a very lyrical feel to it. Almost like a song or melody. A bittersweet and hopeful mantra. Very nicely written.
