crevasse

crevasse

A Poem by AKhaus

I thought what I thought and didn't think much about how it felt.
I could't see what I saw because I was buried underneath these walls.
Not a word, not a single peep was heard as this crevasse grew so deep.
My divide became your divide which became the final severing of the heart we tried to find.
I speak to slow and before I knew it I had let you go, not knowing what I had done I fumbled for you.
A silence gave me this stillness and in that motionless freeze I started to realize it was always me.

A poem of regret here. The speaker describes a divide with someone loved. It seems it is now too late to close it. In the end, the speaker seems to take responsibility for it. Not pleasant, but much better than bitterness and blame.
