In the cold

In the cold

A Poem by AKhaus

No one knows what we will do in the cold.
As the ice grips your soul and nothing seems to fit or feel anymore.
The love you had just dies and the numbness begins to paralyze.

No one could ever fathom what we will do in the flames.
As the heat melts your skin and nothing can touch you ever again.
The life you had just dies and the dust floats away in the wind.

No one could know of watching a child in pain and having no recourse of taking it away.
As the agony of helplessness creeps up into your mind and the tears you swallow they will never find.
The child you had just sleeps forever then and the memories have no end.

No one knows what we will do in the cold.
No one planned that it would be this long.
No one saw the tower crumbling.
No one felt how this was our last song.
