In my blood

In my blood

A Poem by AKhaus

I listen to the stories in my blood
They speak in symbols and waves
The speak from beyond their ice cold graves
I hear them chanting as my pulse races

"Fast rises the sun and slow goes the moon.
Take care of your heart and never let go too soon."

I hear the pain with the words they chose
I smell the rains of all their tears
When the night comes they sing the loudest

"Don't let your eyes blind you.
You see what isn't there."

I feel the tremors which shook them down
I sense the terror which haunts them now
I am mixed and mingled, blood curled, from water to rock
Hold tight to such stories for they never rot
