maybe I can be

maybe I can be

A Poem by AKhaus

Maybe I can be your only one, and maybe I can be the heart you feel beating inside.
Maybe you can say my name with open eyes and forget about all the lies.
Maybe you can stay in love with me when I fall and cry.
Maybe I will no longer be afraid, maybe I will be something you don't need to hide.
Maybe is never happening and that clock is moving faster than I wanted it to...
Even when I am in love with you I have to leave you.
Even when I feel the heaven in your arms I have to breathe.
Even when I am safe I have to run again to catch the wind.
Maybe we can just remember these words and then let the sand wash it all away.
Maybe you can believe I am more than this memory.
Maybe more than this crazy, wild and broken animal caught in this hollow web.
Even when I grab those bridal reins and ride I can't seem to ever escape you.
Even when I go deep into the night you haunt me.
Maybe there is no end, no beginning, maybe it's what we need to be alive.
Maybe we need to just keep walking to the edge of this so we can see our lights before we wreck this ship.
Even when we say goodbye it's never good to go.
Maybe I could have just forget to say, to say that I cared enough...enough to be your only one.
