The pounding drum is sounding off this emotional thunderstorm.
I don’t recall arriving at this edge as the red climbed up my neck with the heart’s unyielding rage.
And here I am as my feet stomp on this granite.
I can no longer run from this, this cry rising up from my feet.
The taste of your wrong burning my tongue.
Oh the soul cannot sleep as these chains of neglect drag as I’ve wondered down to this...
There is no song that could tell of that hateful, subversive love you gave to me.
