silent endings

silent endings

A Poem by AKhaus

I have to lay it down and bury it.
Lost love is never an easy mourning to undertake.
Separating from the roots of someone is a complete emotional free fall.
I hope to tuck this down deep into the ground and retrieve it later.
I hope to look back and smile at the love that was shared.
I have to lay it down and bury it.
Lost love is not a thing you can talk about.
It's either alive or dead.
When it's dead it starts to reek of unfamiliar movements and insecure words.
Exchanges forced.
All that was sincerely natural now so stiff as you attempt to reanimate it.
I have to lay it down and bury it.
