snow trails

A Poem by AKhaus

It is in this snow that she leaves her trail for me to discover and for me to fail.
Sweet kisses, sweet whispers hanging in that icy air as I fall to her feet, collapsing to nothing but pure defeat.
Only in such cold can time slow to a crawl.
It is in this slowing from which we may actually see the devastating dance of hearts which will soon bleed.
'Tis the river's twilight that brings me back home to hear the howls in the wind and to feel less hollow on this endless road.
