The Returned

The Returned

A Poem by AKhaus

From darkened earth and skinny bones a body will rise from once it lied.
The heart dry and anxious.
The head hollow with lost time.
Up from the roots, the hands grasp each rock with absolute intent as the struggle births forth a creature who will no longer repent.
Stillness has escaped from the decrepit and the flesh now craves.
