note to self

note to self

A Poem by AKhaus

I want the world to see how you made a fool of me.
Lending me out for use without fee I am all used up and empty.
I cultivated a world within myself to deal with the you that was not me.
I have only you and me to blame for this foolishness and erosion that has shaken my tree.
I want the world to know how you made me a show.
Performing for everyone as the inside would whither.
My apathy allowed this betrayal to grow as my insides were trapped.
I have only me and you to account for all the harm which was brought about.

Interesting psychological piece here. If I interpret correctly, we view a monologue in which the conscious mind berates the ego self for its self defeating practices. The speaker has obviously worked to develop insight and takes responsibility for the things that have gone wrong. That is good. However, caution is advised. The subconscious mind takes things literally, so strong words directed inwardly can batter self esteem. Better to correct than belittle. Good work here.
