the fog

the fog

A Poem by AKhaus

Frozen in place, I am paralyzed by what I feel.
It's been a long time coming and I am here to tell you how cold my memories can be when I am alone in the dark.
The depth of these wounds can be seen in the sun's light.
She told me to try and find a safe place.
She guided me to this space.
Nothing can slow this from crashing into the center of my world.
I am walking in this fog, walking in this haze of mindlessness and hopeless fear.
I am not sure if I am real when I am here.
It creeps into me.
An echoing of beguilement is what I hear playing in this mist so thick and white.
She told me to stay but I'm afraid and cannot rip myself out from the siren's cry.
I can smell the ocean as it pounds against these stones and the lighthouse has disappeared.
