keyhole

keyhole

A Poem by AKhaus

I fade back to a time when that wooden door was shut and the only light in the room was peering through that keyhole.
Staring at that frame and wondering what it is keeping me from or why it keeps me at all.
Is the beast locked in or out?
I ponder the silent rage with glassy eyes.
How will this keep me when I can squeeze through that keyhole?
Transformed into that light I will fly away.
And so the tides turn inside...for what keeps me also makes me want to stay.
I return back behind that wooden door, slipping back through that mysterious keyhole.
And what freedom I sought is kept to such confines of my mind.

I think we all lock ourselves into a room of sorts. We could break free but opt to stay for any number of reasons ... I like this piece
