rebirth

rebirth

A Poem by AKhaus

Immersed, dampened through with this pervasive feeling of truth and I am not managing this well.
I am unable to peer into my reflection without spite and discontent for the creature I've become.
Strung from a vessel traveling through flames, I was barely able to reach ground.
Now I crawl.
I slide through the mud.
I dry these gills and hope to walk again.
No apple to chew and no garden to enslave me.
I am just trying to learn to be me again without hurting those who love me.
