the other side

the other side

A Poem by AKhaus

Deep within she is my sin.
She hides beneath the floor boards and wakes to the moon's eye.
Her skin translucent and her eyes are complete white.
An apparition that has yet to leave this ground, she is on the hunt and hungers for more.
No remorse exists in her world, she only knows the constant crave and kill.
She wears my face and I am left behind in the other place.
You can hear her growling within the gray clouds as the storm surrounds you.
Time is never fast enough to get away from her.
If she has your scent, you are certain to meet her with fatal intent.

Vivid and powerful imagery in this piece. I’m left with a sense of mental torment. Chaos and Order fighting in the mind. We reveal what we believe others will accept and hide what they’ll likely reject. Still, the genuine self always emerges, from the darkness, from behind the mask—all of which you convey artfully in this poem. Another good work from you.
