oh sister

oh sister

A Poem by AKhaus

Oh sister, dearest and seemingly sweetest sister...
How you fall far from me now.

Oh your face flaking on the edges and the mask fused into your flesh...
Where are you in there?
Are you there anymore?

Fond memories I will hold for always and they will bring the greatest smile but to see you turn from friend to foe hurts me deeper than you could ever conceive.
How we change.
How we turn side to side, from black to white slowly gray but another hue each and every day.

The craft we make of the lives we break by such disappointing moments.
We carve into time a path filled with edges sharp and wide.
Sometimes the space between us is less than a step but deeper than a bottomless abyss.
I had hoped for more from you but such expectations are sometimes so foolish.
