sunset

sunset

A Poem by AKhaus

The waves are above my knees and my feet sinking in this sand.
I have no other desire but to stand here until I disappear in this.
I can't imagine walking away from such a perfect sunset that holds such fire in that melting horizon.
It's as though I've waited for this all my life and I am not about to escape this.
Take everything, take all that you can because I don't want anything to consume me like I need this to.
I need to be devoured to feel my soul again, I need to be obliterated in this.
I want to be eroded, scattered into pieces and let the ocean take me where I need to go and be something more...
I need to learn to live again.
