stagnant

stagnant

A Poem by AKhaus

there is a dead fish in the water and the blue has turned red
the birds will not land here and the scent fills me with dread
the horizon distorted by a vapor, a gas reeking thick
I can barely breathe here as the fumes of death consume the air
I must look beyond the tragedy of this and flee from the pain which rests
the scale of this misery is undefined but it has certain endings which I do defy
I must leave this black, I must go to no where fast
I need a piece of my mind that will rescue me from this darkness
I must find, I must find a way to break that window and fly away
the burden keeps pulling me down, the guilt dragging my heart through this and poisoning all that I am
