the gallow

the gallow

A Poem by AKhaus

oak doors fastened shut with iron locks
no keys for these hollow homes
bare feet and torn clothes
no sanctuary for these tired bones
gates and fences blocking the path
no more road to seek
sleep is calling and you must go to her soon
no more wandering in this endless dream
