gone

gone

A Poem by AKhaus

she was gone before I knew it, I forgot to show her my affections and tell her my feelings.
her last breath, and then I fell to my knees to say goodbye.
she gave me life and I gave her little.
shoulders of steel and courage of a lion, she is my idle.
such sacrifice without thinking and she oozed of love, all she was was love.
I hope to have such wisdom, her patience and commitment.
she died there while I was brushing my hair.  3:23pm and the gurgling stopped, the air left the room.
then I had to face my reality because she demands my happiness, she demands me to live a life of truth.
only her shell was left, empty egg and the bird flew away.
she's gone, she's gone and I have to deal with it.
she's gone and the air is much lighter now.
she's gone and my wounds still bleed.
she's gone but she has freed me.
