A Poem by AKhaus

catastrophic mourning falling upon the grace of these flames...
burn deep into me and never yield this disaster.
hollow are these hands as they hold the day from the dark.
the mother's eyes sinking, she will cease to survive.
fallen embers of love, streaming across the sky as though all has been taken...
taken from my sight, from my lips, my soul, taken from my most humble heart.

"Hollow" is a great word choice to convey emptiness. The idea that we have people taken from us before we're ready makes me want to better appreciate the people I care about.

It's interesting because humans are given life--the ultimate gift--but hope against hope that we'll never have that taken away.
