From the dark

From the dark

A Poem by AKhaus

I am detested as I sleep.
Feared as I breathe.
Here's the story of me.

It was nothing there, in the dark nothing but my tears seeping through those floor boards. You were going to leave but you stayed. I had hoped it was a stay for me.

I asked you to divert your eyes as I awoke from that cavern of pain.

Less than ugly and more than grotesque.

My lips were wet, longing with thirst.

My bones cracking, teeth were chattering and my eyes glazed from the lack of light.

I hoped you were staying and the stay was for me.

My fingers animated, my arms stretch as the translucent flesh pumped with agile blood.

Now I am awake.
Now I feel your stay.
