the lakeA Poem by AKhaus
I went to the lake to find some peace.
I saw a fowl dead in the water. The lover no longer be her side. Her body drifting alone. I cannot digest how her end came to be...how she just floats there in the corner of no where. Was it a storm that took her by surprise and overwhelmed her? Did she drown in the fury of rain and wind, beating her down? To feel her end, to be her in that moment... Her home her tomb. Her love her loneliness. Black, dead, silent.
