Min[e] Alone, Beating Heart

Min[e] Alone, Beating Heart

A Poem by FaeryQueen

No one knows you: my tiny beating heart.
No one can pull you apart- my heroine
addict, the one addicted to the drugs that are
the countless beating hearts that you infect
with your “love”- that mind numbing poison
 you disembody.

Just tell me to tell them- the one for the
 many, my a*s!
I can see him breathing hard; the one you
tied and brought in without so much as
a warning... what is wrong with you?

He complains about fragility and duality
and municipality, the weakness in us
 all is our duplicity.
But, can we handle it, he says.

Can the canary bird spread his wings and
fly off into the blazing sun, without going
 up in flames?
Can he do that, he challenges you...

And you!
With your bright eyes and ever eager
stance, you race him to the finish line, teeth
clinked and ready for a meal, ready
for nothing but the meat between your teeth.

Yes...yes, happenstance says the same
words around the same race track more
than enough times: have I not learned,
have I not as of yet known how to create
new galaxies when I’ve had this pen for
so long- stepped in so many puddles of
My Own emotions (trusted no one) but
 my [own] emotions?
