“Keep in mind” khatoon hazara ||| 10:23am fri. 4.5.19A Poem by FaeryQueentsed“Keep in mind” khatoon hazara ||| 10:23am fri. 4.5.19 I’m still a lil drunk from yesterday Thought the sleet and ice would take the pain away So I stood in the blizzard and rain Hoping someone, somehow would feel the change I lost a lot when I lost you A part of me died with you too I thought the distraction would be enough But nothing compares to the weight of your love I ran in circles trying to find my tail A purpose of someone gone derailed I didn’t think I’d find more than a shred of who I used to be But there it is An age old trade A bridge of broken bones now Rest In Peace I thought I had lost my mind When I lost you, I lost track of time I didn’t know which way to turn Which bridge to burn I’m in a spiral and I wish it led back to you Today is the final resting place Your tombstone in your grave Has been replaced I forgot how you sound like It'll be 6 months and I’m still confused What do i do I had a dream you never came back I don’t wanna dream of happiness And love at last If that’s exactly what we can’t have I’m still bitter over the very end The lack of happiness I’m still a lil high from the wind The needles and the pines have spiked my skin Filled me with the rage within That I can’t control I told myself I was nothing else If nothing else Swam in a pool of their own regret Broke hearts and broken lies Can I spare you a bit of my goodbyes Coz it always seems to follow the same pattern Follow me and I’ll show you what I’ve learned The darkness has a heavy feeling on my shoulders Maybe someone somewhere can lessen the blow And even if I never even cared to hold you Initially wasn’t i the one that told you to keep away from me My heart has gone numb and is on overdrive Can I help you to some coffee Does it help knowing that the caffeine is to my liking I never knew how to end my thought Never knowing how to end a poem Sometimes it just ends so short So.... suddenly. ||| © 2019 FaeryQueen |
