i am nothing short of a miracle you said
i was never going away
i was nothing short of a chatterbox
something feasible to the mind
and something like a trophy wife

i’d never find a man for me you said
that wasn’t like us
and if i did you’d curse our love you said
you pricked my finger, just once

you didn’t need a daughter you said
if that daughter was gonna run away

coz i was running away no matter what you said

i never needed a mother i said
coz from the day you birthed me you could’ve left me for the storks
i never needed a father i said
coz a fathers just as hard as a mother

i rejoiced in the name of nature
growing up i didn’t have much
love came from the trees
and the moons glow was enough
