Hello, Brown Speck!A Poem by FaeryQueenots
It's become a while, how the time goes!
I've come to weep by my grave tonight... Ages pass without my knowing it and suddenly, there I lay, I point with my finger. I am scared, seeing my corpse underneath the dirt covering it in my minds' eye, I do not cry. I do not shed a tear, but I stand very tall. My tombstone is marble-white and finished with a pearly glow. It is nightfall, here in my mind, here by my grave, slightly drizzling. The atmosphere is thickening, accumulating with the evening breaths of the people that came by then. I hope my stance isn't awkward. How I brandish the darkness and let in the light. You can tell my soul is leaving just by looking in my eyes. Wearing a mask glued to my skin, I was waiting for a newcomer. I finish my work, get up and dust off my pants. Looking down again, I can tell, this time for real, there are no take-backs. No loopholes. The rain is seemingly reading my mind as she pelts down hard on my back, the sky darkening right on cue. There is nothing I can hear but the still heartbeats of the crows' call. There is no one here, only I am here alone. Walking away, I do not even take a backwards glance, do not even let the entrails of my remnants mist around me, shrouding my face as they would a Bell Tower. Instead, the blanketing sky, and down-pouring rain keep going... on... and on... and on.
