"Delphi's Logic"

KH

Sparse, she said

Brushing her hair for the millionth time

Too sparse, I want

Then something she could no longer catch

She had her hands out

Ready to catch those words she's trying to find

Dropping her brush and letting her hair swing to the front of her face, she looks at me

It's sparse, do something, she told me

She regained her brushing and let her mind wander elsewhere

What is it you want, Delphi?

I looked to her with curiosity in my eyes

DelphiI thought, your life force is what I want for my own

She looked at me and smiled, continuously brushing her hair; up, dowwwwwwwwwwwn, up

Her pattern slowed as she looked at me

The room... it's sparse, there's nothing in here that makes me smile
but you're here and that's only for a little while longer until you have to go again
do something!
Her pattern continued, I didn't have anything in mind so I continued watching her

Brushing her hair

Delphi, why don't you go to sleep, like the doctor said?

Delphi, don't worry, you'll be alright

Delphi

Delphi is there, brushing her hair and I'm sitting by her side

Watching her

Hoping that she'll never know

She is only a whisper

And I

I am the encasement

She is sheltered by me

And I

I am reminded of her daily

How she spoke

How she walked, her balance, they are all inside me

God, how time can be so cruel
