"The Ink From This Pen"

By: Khatoon Hazara

The ink from this pen

The third eye blind to the insight one distills in them

Smart people are the core of immobility

The reason as to why this is so perfect; the invention of poetry

Pretty words inked in silver and gold

Lined with papyrus to touch the story one's told

Roll over with the tongue

Once, twice

Never to be heard from again

Copy one's second nature; the pretty things one plays with

The linings all so clear

We know the difference between right and wrong

And we choose with it the destiny of our own fate

The one empathized in everyone's' heads

With this ink from this pen

That I hold in my hands

I will with it the ability to write

All my stories' pain, misfortune
