Sleep At NightA Poem by FaeryQueenots
Even the sun refused to wake; the time wasn't right. You swore that you'd make this last forever; you have. No one said we could've; we proved them wrong, didn't we? We did; the moon is congratulating us; do you think he's genuinely happy? Darling; the night air is talking to me, telling me of things I dreamed about. I skipped sleep; too busy staring at you and wondering what you were dreaming about. What were you thinking about, close eyed? I meant to wake you up; the way you were breathing; the way you were still, the breaths coming slow and steady from your lips. I can see the stars from the bedroom window. The moon is still shining, your eyes are still closed and the stars are invisible under the sheets; tell me, why? You are moving about, my eyes are getting heavy and they're almost closed. I sense that your eyes are open, you're awake. I hear the noises you are making; the noises you make when you are almost about to wake up. Tell me something; and I want the truth because sometimes, sometimes I get so paranoid and start thinking of other things, things other than something that's logical. Logicality means nothing to me, at least I don't think so. At least I don't think so; do you? Do you think in logic when you are with me because I don't; logic, huh, logic...
