Can You Remember Me, As I Do?A Poem by FaeryQueenots“Can
You Remember Me, As I Do?” You are standing in the middle of my thoughts,
wondering why you’re hearing so many voices. So many whispers; echoing into oblivion, You are intrigued; the silky threads of my
thoughts are whizzing by your ears; the silhouette of my shadow is teasing you. You wonder why you are where you are; in my
thoughts; how did you get stuck in them? Then you look down at your hands and realize
you’ve been playing in the dirt again, I told you not to, Didn’t I? At least, I thought I did, but then again,
I’ve told you so many things, You know I can’t remember for the life of me, Can you remember the first time we met? But then I forget, you could only remember as
much as I can, You are only a hologram, after all; the only
thing I saved. Flashes of memory play like movies; the
richest movies you’ve ever watched. My love, you are wondering now; I can see the
concern in your face. My, oh my; the crinkles beneath your smile is
wonderful; now though, something seems to be draining you of the energy. Tell me again what was it you said “It’s
nothing”, Oh, please elaborate with me about this
‘nothing’, Where does it come from? Does it have a cause? Can it feel pain, as I do? It must be me overreacting again, isn’t it? That must be it, right? But love, it’s okay, It’s okay because my heart is slightly
breaking now; It’s okay because my love is being
foreshadowed by regret; It’s okay because sometimes we can’t see the
stars but we know they are there; hidden in the moon; It’s okay because now we don’t have to share
what it feels like to be alone; Because we are not alone; we have each other; No one can know about us, but us; the broken,
misguided misfits.
