~ The First Bite ~

I shook my head, thinking about the old woman as I went back to my seat, sipping from the edge of the cup as I sat down, looking at the window again, but not really looking at it

 

 

I was in deep thought as I stood by the trolley; the woman already bought her 2 pastries, her cup of tea and biscuits

 

 

The first pastry she got for free and the second she bought for who-knows-what reasons

 

 

I was hungry and the pastry looked really big

 

 

“I’ll just leave yours here, just in case you change your mind”

 

 

The trolley lady smiled at me and looked at the woman; the woman’s hand going up automatically

 

 

She turned to the front and pushed the trolley cart to the other passengers’

 

 

 

The woman smiled as she held out her gloved hand with the pastry

 

 

I was still looking out the window, absent mindedly when I heard the trolley lady going to the other passenger’s

 

 

The woman tapped me on the shoulders with her other hand

 

 

 

I looked at it, then I took it; no words were needed

 

 

I opened up the wrapper and took a bite
