My Marble Floor

My Marble Floor

I can chisel this,

Hone in only on the fine details,

The very smooth feel of the marble floor, the way only the finest of sunsets can penetrate through to its sheen core,

I’ve seen many arisen out on the patio,

The roof,

They decided to build the marble floor on the balcony, though,

I lay there,

Atop the marble setting, the cool feel on my side,

I’ve demolished all my fears out on the balcony,

With that marble floor, its cooling effect,

It’s scary to think that someday, this marble floor will be stripped away and only the finest of sunsets will no longer be able to penetrate through to its sheen core,

Because there’ll be no sheen core to penetrate through to,

But that thought makes me feel so sad,

And all my tears have been used up in all the other hurt I’ve been through,

I don’t like… thinking sad thoughts,

I like to be happy,

I want to be happy,

I need my happiness to wash away all the hurt that I’ve been through,

I… just need my marble floor to save me the tears that I’d otherwise cry,

If not for my marble floor, then who better to catch my tears,

Who’d do it better than my marble floor?
