Duet W/ Moonlight

Duet W/ Moonlight

A Poem by FaeryQueen

When the world starts over

And all the humans have been reborn, when will the time come for me to stand my ground?

Because all my life, I’ve been a coward

And no one dared stand before me

They were too afraid… of my cowardice

Too fearful that I may break in front of them

Like the brandy bottle
that shatters when rage mixes with frustration
In human hearts

They think, ‘her, what nonsense, she’s nothing but a fake, a phony.’

But then

They think

‘She hasn’t done us no harm, who are we to judge her so fast?’

Set anew

The time

It has set us anew

Maybe it is true
That the times have set us anew
But the new spring
May not necessarily bring the blossoms
I wanted...
I may have been a coward all my life
But now I wish to stand and fight
For as much is left of my life
But all I see
Is the pity and sympathy their eyes speak of
They think I am weak
With brittle bones and an aching heart...
They can't listen to my screams
Demanding to be heard
To be acknowledged for the power I hold
To be treated normally
And not like a broken toy
Needing to be fixed...
Not treated like a fragile feather
But like the feather that contributes to the strong wings
Strong wings that compel one to fly,
               And soar through the skies
               Higher than ever expected....
