"Catching Fever"

"Catching Fever"

A Poem by FaeryQueen

on the spot

"Catching Fever"
Shivering
not from the cold
but from the various folds you've left me in
between your bed sheets
I roam, alone, half alive.
The strings of your love have pulled me through, I dunno how, but I kept on moving.
Trudging along this dusty path once more
I struggle to open my eyes
to the blinding lights in front of me
I know this place
I think to myself
I've been here before
Home.

Your words have yet to soak in
sinking into my brain
a sea of love
rotten
like the aging wood on the Titanic, as if it was still stood there, on the prairie
.
"Lovers, lovers we'll be, forever, you & me"
But even that seems overrated in itself.
In itself.
In itself.

Beat-Beat-Broke.
Into a thousand pieces, shattering, shattered, have shattered, again and again.
over and over
around and around.

---

The wind was
saying, "It's alright, board the tram, might as well, no use staying, 'll only cause trouble"
So I boarded, not looking back.
