Saving a LifeA Story by FaeryQueenP.O.V
The spider was dangling, there, on a loose thread of a scholar's sweater.
My love was what drew my attention away from the calming ocean breeze, the seagulls calling to one another, and the faint smell of perspiration of guests that have already done their part, a rest from walking, a reward they've earned. "Please help me!" My eyes diverted to the sweater, a soft charcoal gray with a hoodie. The spider, a little life, yet its heart, ever-large, trickled his legs, finding footing in the unstable surface. Shampoo sample in hand, I gently tucked it under the critter's fumbly legs, lifted up and smiled as the little bug looked up at me with his tiny eyes and beamed, shouted, "THANKS!", spun around and hopped off as I put the spider down on a leaf. I watched it scuttle away, a leather-back to the moonlight.
