"Morning Monsters (a duet with Paanvana Varma)"

A Poem by FaeryQueen

"Morning Monsters"

there are shadows
in the morning
under my bed
lurking in the dark
but the demons
have been gone
faded
from existence
i don't know
if what we're gonna find
is as distinct
as the callers mind
but it seems though
we're running out of time

then I blind myself to what I've drawn
I blind myself to the shadows around.
I blind myself to the pictures from within.
Now, I see a world different from before.
No more tears
No more blood
No more demons.
Now I've drawn a different path.
Now all I see is a brave new world.
A brave new world calling from within.

sensual and calm
daunting yet undaunting
like the moon and the stars
beating restlessly against the Mormon night sky
the past comes into focus
sifting through those stars
we call stories
sorting out
our prayers
calling
against our faith

Looking back, we die,
we decay into a void of darkness.
But then again, we are reminded of the pictures we've painted.
"The Brave New World", the void echoed.
We fight a war that's within.
A war of raw emotions.
An uninhibited overflow.
Victory was predicted for us
for we are from the brave new world.
The world that accepts,
that which forgives,
that which forgets.

here in the empty light
we stand
all on our feet
still alive
yet we don't acknowledged
how we survived
maybe we fought
and bled
without even a tear
that was shed
when we opened our eyes
we forgot it was a war
that was fought
carry on
like nothings wrong
maybe it was all for nothing
for our humanity
we strove to be just being
just being
but we can't be
what we never was
born from the norm
honed into all existence
i try to remember
where our faith as humans were
but something inside of us
flitted away

We put on a brave front
but underneath which we're a quivering lot.
Yet we fought for what was left,
with the steel armor we've built.
This war....
For whom was it fought?
Us, the world, humanity?
But now, as we stand in this empty light
all we know is that
We fought,we bled, we won.
For nothing or for everything
We might never know.
But we know we fought a war
that was to be won.
We know we fought a war
that gave birth to us,
two new people
with bravery in their hearts.
Two new people with world
in their palms.
Two new people whose faces will never be known.
But we won and that's what matters.
maybe
there was no boundaries
in which we fought
in which we understood it all
maybe
nothings change
our battle
we fought strong
and still we've won
