on the spot

-[{ *********************** BEFORE I START ANYTHING!!!! I MUST LET YOU KNOW, I FEEL, IT HAS BEEN TOO LONG, AND I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD'VE TOLD YOU THIS SOONER... BECAUSE I DIDN'T, I'M GOING TO NOW!!! I HAVE DISSOCIATIVE IDENTITY DISORDER!!!! I WAS DIAGNOSED LAST YEAR!!!! *********************** }])-
a mirror
a fine
piece
of glass
look how perfectly smooth it is
having its occasional
jagged bubble
but
then again
is anything ever
perfect?
never mind
surpass the flaws
and look at the mirror as a whole
reflections
and another you
from another planet
seemingly
yet unaware of the fact
does everything you do
stares back at you

a mirror
perfect
yet imperfect

now
bring the shining shard
to the sky
just do it
don't ask me why
feel the weight of it all
the power
surge through you
feel it
as its just a
bout to fall
let go
of the glow
and watch it sprinkle
like snow
like something sweet on your tongue

shards
and shards
of very distinct minds
all saying different words
but speaking alike
it's crazy
you saved me
from a rotten memory
and now
i am forever thankful
for everything
you gave to me

look at the floor
oh!
what a mess
millions
and billions
of trillions
in distress

the voices
they play
like a second hand serenade
lulling me safe
but no matter
the hardships
no matter the pain
all in all
its been a good day

Your poetry is always beautifully and eloquently expressed and this poem is no exception...wonderful job! Thank you for sharing your diagnosis. I was a social worker and worked with many people with differing diagnoses and I love that you are open about it. We need to live in a world where mental diagnoses are treated the same as physical ones in that they are nothing to be ashamed of. You are an amazing artist!

This is a brilliant description of a splintered mind or shattered view of the world. Even tho you seemingly wrote this for a very specific disorder & I love how this helps us see things from your point of view, it's also an authentic depiction of many ways the mind can be splintered or shattered by life or by a disorder (I'm bipolar & there are parallels!) This is the poster child for turning life's difficulties into art. This is showing instead of telling. Your writing has all the right stuff (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

It s have very simply words just few. But result is great poem. Very gently and very open like human heart. There is great sense to keep balance. There is your creativity and love hide inside all your words.

Khatoon, It is nice to see you haven't let your disorder control your talent, most good writers are a little eccentric (me too) but it is that-that makes us different from others so embrace what you have and let your poetry speak for itself. Well Done.

Absolutely fantastical. I love how you let your organs spills out and drag them through shards. It takes a lot.

Hey, no one on this earth is born perfect. If they think they are they are only fooling themselves. We all have hidden flaws. Just do the best you can with what God gave you. Valentine
