Afire love.

afire

you are the scorching sun

which sets aflame the world

but the gentle zephyr wind for me

which soothes my skin with it's soft touch

at the end of an unforgiving summer

you are the fiery orange of the flame

which burns within my heart

for the love you set alight

when you look at me and through me

with your dark bright fire lit eyes

and turn me into a lilac sky

Love the way you use the fire analogy to signify passion & love thru-out. Love how there are a couple of softer reprieves where it's not so fiery, too. Those waves of intensity add a nice interest to the feelings conveyed. This poem is a beautiful journey through the moods of a passion and the colors and states that passion stirs up in the lover.

i love the allegory here...to others he may be a dangerous, burning flame...to her, he is a soothing balm of love and understanding.
