Rainy dayA Poem by Aesthetic AutumnSometimes, I get bored with people. Oh, and if you don't know what "defenestrate" means, look it up. It's a very useful word.Staring at a computer screen on a lazy afternoon. Illuminated words and phrases in tiny, glowing, generic
typeface convey my every thought and
feeling: laugh, smile, joke, whatever
you want. After all, it is your show. Apathy covers the mind like a
blanket of snow, ensnaring every emotion as the world turns time and
time again. But remember, and to be clichéd: "Looks can be
decieving"; what people show isn't what
they feel at all. It's raining, it's pouring, the red team is scoring. The monotonous buzz of the
television, screaming, cheering fans in another world apart from me and my life, and my sounds, and
I don't even know who's playing. Just when I think it's done,
the rain begins again, washing the world clean of all its impurity again, and again, until there's
nothing left at all. Weather Channel says it's gonna
be another week. In the meantime, I just want to
defenestrate my thoughts, because maybe, just maybe, there's
peace beyond the window. © 2010 Aesthetic AutumnReviews
