Writing > Hot Chocolate

A Poem by Scene, not herd

Hot chocolate is comforting
But it lacks the sparse
Harsh truth of black and white
That is writing

I just want to
Stay up and write
While away the hours
In the comfort of knowing

I may find myself
Or completely lose it
In the event I open up
And find a new realm
Inside

Instant gratification takes a back seat
We know the payoff comes back
Bigger
And better

Mapping yourself out in black and white
The periodical but unlikely
Purple pen
Seems inappropriate for such a solemn
And fufilling procedure

You'd only know how far you've gone
After you've mapped yourself out
In black and white

I can really relate to these parts:

I just want to
Stay up and write
While away the hours
In the comfort of knowing

I may find myself
Or completely lose it
In the event I open up
And find a new realm
Inside

Oh wow! This is seriously awesome! =O
The first stanza really drew me in. I can totally identify with wanting to just wave sleep away and sit and write and contemplate for hours on end. To me, it's quite more comforting than hot chocolate.
Kudos on the cool username, btw =]
