Lies

Lies

A Poem by Scene, not herd

White and black
Does it make a difference?
My soul could be at stake here
Yet I don't want to know
Certain death
Imminent
Or purgatory
I've never been
good at long term decisions

White and black for piano keys
White and black for lies
Who says we're born good?
Searching in vain for this
intrinsic quality
Its all grey, somehow
Foraging and finding
Confirming what I've known
A long time ago:

Perhaps, really,
I'm black inside.

Darkness, if allowed, will devour us all. I'm sure we all have a little darkness in us. I suppose it's necessary to keep us balanced. Beautifully constructed. Well done.

Its done matter. When we are overcome by darkness. Can't see the good in life anymore. A outstanding poem. The flow and the story were very good.
