The Miracle Cure

The Miracle Cure

A Poem by Twizzler

We're just waiting.

Standing still and just waiting.
Waiting for an answer.

For relief.
For an easier day.
For something. Anything
Anything. Anything able to show us that there's still reason to have faith,
Something worth believing in.

But that's our problem.
Most of us just wait. Wait and wait and wait.
We wait all our lives.
Wait for the big promotion.
Wait for the love of our life to ask us out.
Wait for some miracle cure to take the pain away.

But the truth is...
The world doesn't wait for anyone.

There comes a point in time where we need to stop waiting and just start doing.
Because we're not going to get handed that big promotion.
The love of your life isn't going to ask us out by playing Sleeping Beauty.
& there is no miracle cure that's going to make the pain any easier.

We can't control the world around us
We can only control how we take it & finally realize that things aren't going to change just because you want them to.
They'll change once we start doing something about it.

"Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it." -Groucho Marx
