Dawn of a new age

Dawn of a new age

A Poem by kevluvtory
"

Genetic manipulation is it worth it?

"

Caught in the headlights for a fleeting moment which seemed a lifetime
the soft wisps of golden plume drift languid over the furrowed brow,
falling as a voile curtain above eyes of emerald glistening under hooded lids the skin, alabaster, accentuating the ruby red glistening lips so full and inviting;
Hypnotically drawing the eyes downwards towards a creature of  beauty.

Retracing the journey was all that mattered now, a chance once more to gaze;
alas the future once so certain disrupted as all the gods conspired for redemption
a touch of moonlight, a silver shaft within the darkness calls, wearily;
One last effort draining every minuscule amount of strength from within
gasping against the harsh razor of asthmatic furor towards oblivion
fingers taut with anxiety and remorse for not stopping when we had the chance.

If only she had stayed for that moment longer we could have talked,
settled differences perhaps,
but then my time had been short because of impositions from without,
the dripping festering desires of others forced upon me by feelings of guilt
had I not been so eager to announce my findings without moral guidance?
All the ifs and buts in the world however could not change
the thing which we created!

Drawn from every aspect of strength which we fawningly admired,
desire driving away everything but the ultimate prize from our thoughts
a race to be the first regardless of consequence!
Striving against all odds to be hailed the winner
the creator of a new life form
with none to reject proposals failure was in truth inevitable!
