What has the world come to?

What has the world come to?

A Poem by kevluvtory
"

how perhaps a deity may view today's society

"
Unfurled the winged messenger of doom flies true to the heart of the land.

'Let none survive the deluge about which I will provide.'

Thus spake the Lord of Lord's,
the Host of Host's
What does not drown tomorrow's eve,
next day we make of toast.

Still the humans did naught.
Having been riddled with apathy for a year or more from indulgence taken blind.
None left that have self consciousness,
let alone a stable mind.
The world of celebrity is all that matters,
one must have and to hold what they crave,
designer clothing with diamond sequins,
an unmarked paupers grave.
Drugs no longer an addiction,
just a passport of the wealthy classes,
incest and pedophilia,
the draining of champagne glasses,
no thoughts for the poor,
nor the needy,
as they crawl through the mire each day,
looked down on as an inconvenience,
a piece of dirt to move out of the way,
corruption, blackmail and scandal,
a working lads encouragement to trough,
whilst all of the landed gentry learn how to get off with a cough.

And what of the innocent children?
There are none! All gone in a puff
Armageddon is on the horizon,
for me it can’t come soon enough.

Well, I do agree with a lot in this poem, but the deity seems to have created us this way....

I can definitely see how one could look upon the world and see these things. Let us only hope that they can see the beams of light that are still here. The ones of us who still care about each other and not just our own needs. Wonderfully penned.
